I arrived just before midnight, and the room was ready. The staff organized everything smoothly. I had dinner at the restaurant, and even though I waited long, the food was quite tasty. As someone from the Maldives, I'm used to fresh seafood,...

Location
Unfortunately I will have to say that my staying at the Capitol hotel was terrible It started when I reached the hotel at 2:20 pm and I had to wait more than 25 minutes till they got the room ready, my request was very simple I needed a smoking room on the right side of the hotel away from the night club side cause I stayed there 2 months back and the noise from the Arabic night club at the ground floor was so loud I couldn’t sleep the whole night (till 3:00 am when they were done). Still I got a room in the middle and just as I went to sleep at 12:00 am the party started and the noise was unbearable. 1.5 hours later I called the reception and I asked very nicely to change my room as neither me or my wife could sleep with this sound blasting on my head and the lady said she will get back to me in 5 minutes but she didn’T. I called again 30 minutes later and no one answered so I assume they were hoping that the party will end before I can make more complains. Another thing is their swimming pool, I went to The swimming pool on the same day I checked in and it was around 4:00 pm, you could smell, taste and feel the burn of the chlorine that they were very generous in adding to the water rather than cleaning it properly, it was one dib the second day as well wasn’t any better, I went to have a quick swim at 12:00 pm and I know that it was raining early morning but few hours later you expect that they had the time to clean the pool and assign someone to do proper customer service, none of that of course, the pool was dirty with insects and litter and no one was there to help.

Sure, the staff were lovely, really sound folks who went above and beyond. The food was grand, especially the variety at dinner. Only downside was the noise from the nightclubs. it was a bit too lively for me to catch some z's at night.

The bed was comfy and provided some comfort .
Our experience was marred by several issues. There was a cockroach in the bathtub, unacceptable for any guest. The shower had inconsistent temperatures, alternating between hot and cold water. Noise from the rooftop bar kept us awake until the early hours, significantly detracting from our experience.

Nothing
Service was horrible. Most rooms face a wall. Poorly maintained. The non smoking floor stunk like an ashtray. Poorly cleaned rooms. Restaurant was miserable. I can keep going.
